Pair of knitted liturgical silk men's gloves, late 17th – early 18th century, probably Italian, knitted in lime green, pale pink and silver-gilt thread, on a cream ground with details in mauve, yellow and blue, with large central imperial crown above a cruciform and IHS symbol, chalices, ladders and thorny boughs, the colourful upper section bearing the initials AN, the colourful lower section with LIS, N, AVX, the rear gauntlet with BJ, ASA A, below the thumb is a golden heart pierced with arrows and the initials IE, SUSC, ORDIS, ME, Y, both gloves bearing the same initials, but one with the letters reversed in the upper section of the gloves, edged in silver bobbin lace.

Part of the Collection donated to the Livery in 1959 by the late Robert Spence. Conserved 1995 – 1999 with help from NHLF.
