A pair of leather gloves, white stained buff, flesh side out, extended fingers, circa 1640 – 60, the integral gauntlets lined in pale pink/beige silk, the lower half of the glove is quite plain, in contrast to the gauntlet which is embroidered in floss silks with exotic green birds and trefoils, but largely embroidered with gold purl and couched gold threads with stylised fruits, leaf forms and arabesques, edged in scalloped gold bobbin lace threaded with sequins, 32 cm long.

Part of the Collection donated to the Livery in 1959 by the late Robert Spence. Conserved 1995 – 1999 with help from the NHLF.
