A pair of gloves, circa 1620 – 40, of white kid stained buff, suede side up, with separately worked deep crimson satin gauntlets lined in matching silk, of angular stepped shape with no side gussets, professionally embroidered in raised gold purl wire and couched silver threads with pansies, scrolling plants with raised curvilinear strap-work, plain lower hand with finger and thumb seams with wrong sides together and stab-stitched, slightly elongated fingers, 32 cm long.

Part of the Collection donated to the Livery in 1959 by the late Robert Spence. Conserved 1995 – 1999 with help from the NHLF.
