A pair of men's embroidered gauntlet gloves, circa 1600, of cream leather stained brown doeskin, with integral gauntlets, un-lined, professionally worked with a tight overall design of gold and silver raised –work flowers and leaf forms, with unusual angular undulating band of chain stitch, spangled overall with sequins, the fingers, thumbs and knuckles edged and spotted with plaits of silver-gilt thread, 34 cm long. Part of the Collection donated to the Livery 1n 1959 by the late Robert Spence. Conserved 1995 – 1999 with help from the NHLF.
