A pair of embroidered satin gauntlet panels, circa 1600 – 1630, each with six tabs naively but boldly worked in floss silks with hummocks sprouting large single gilly flowers and pansies, some with perching butterflies, the lower band with stylised tulips, roses and strawberries, with couched silver thread tendrils, some remaining sequins, with lower ‘bracelet’ band with ruched and gathered pink silk outlined in gold embroidery and sequins, 32 cm wide overall.
